Overview

Design 101 is a made up beginner graphic design magazine. This magazine was created with multiple monthly issues in mind, which means that everything is set up to have an underlying structure and type styles for specific sections. The additional renditions of other monthly issues are included to showcase what stays consistent throughout.

reflections

Visually and conceptually solving print design issues.

Designing for print may have similar design "rules" or "guidelines" as designing for screen, but there are a lot of other things that I needed to take into consideration. For example, how the viewer approach and view the piece is a completely different experience from holding something physical like a magazine or a brochure to a website. I had a lot more constraints in terms of the working space of a page, which meant I took more time to consider and plan out the organization of the written and visual content

to be both readable and visually engaging.
